Our rules and community guidelines

Updated over 6 months ago

  • Cajole's must be to persuade a person or an entity to do something.

  • Cajole's must be clearly presented with clear terms and conditions.

  • You can cajole someone to not do something, however a date must be given for when the challenge can be considered fulfilled. Cajoling someone to never do something ever again means that they wouldn’t succeed until they cease living.

  • All campaigns must be legal both where the campaign creator starts the campaign and where the campaign target completes it.

  • Anyone participating in the fulfillment of a campaign must be 18+ and be a willing participant.

  • A known personality can only be the target of one campaign at a time. Moderators will let you know if there is already an active campaign targeting who you are attempting to cajole. (Occasional allowances may be considered in special circumstances. Dueling Campaigns are allowed.)

  • For campaigns targeting Everyday People, the creator must know the person they are Cajoling, and provide their up-to-date contact information when submitting the campaign.

  • Dueling Campaigns may not be started by the target of the original campaign.

  • Campaigns may not be used to bully or harass others.

  • Campaigns may not promote discrimination, bigotry, or intolerance towards marginalized groups.

  • Campaigns must not include offensive material (e.g., hate speech, encouraging violence against others, etc).

  • Campaigns must not solicit pornographic material.

  • Campaigns must not solicit physical or emotional harm or injury to live animals.

  • Campaigns may not solicit activity using alcohol, drugs, or weapons.

  • Campaigns may not repeat campaigns that already exist, or repackage a previously-created campaign, without adding anything new or aiming to iterate on the idea in any way.

  • If campaign targets are also the campaign's creator, they cannot collect their creator fee.

  • Open Call campaigns cannot be fulfilled by the campaign creator.

  • All campaign creators must be 18+ or have a legal guardian create a campaign on their behalf.

If your project involves something legally inconspicuous, heavily regulated, or potentially dangerous and it is not on this list, please contact us before starting your project.

We DO NOT allow:

  • Abuse. A personal attack, harassment, intimidation, threat, bigotry, slurs, support for violence, or discrimination against marginalized groups fall into this category.

  • Spam. Any attempt to clutter or derail genuine conversation, including unsolicited advertisements, trolling, and excessive message flooding, falls under this category.

  • Doxxing. This includes posting private or identifying information about a user if that information was sourced from outside of Cajole. In spite of the fact that this information is available elsewhere, we would still consider it doxxing to post it without the individual's consent.

Please DO:

  • Discuss the project in a lively, respectful manner.

  • Ask questions and give constructive feedback.

  • Backers: Back the project you believe in by making a pledge.

  • Creators: Maintain transparency about your creation and keep everyone informed.

Help us moderate Cajole.

Let us know if something seems off by reporting it. Our Moderation team reviews every report received.

In the event that someone violates the Community Guidelines, what happens?

Violations are dealt with according to their severity. When you violate these guidelines knowingly and repeatedly, we can take the following actions:

  • A warning sent via email

  • Removal of comments

  • Disallowance of comments, messages, or backing future projects on an account, either temporarily or permanently

We will continue to evaluate and enforce these guidelines as our community grows and changes. We all have a responsibility to make Cajole a safe and fun place for launching and backing projects. Cajole is glad to have you as a part of our community!
