Yes — most edits now go live automatically. A few specific changes still need our team to take a look first.
What you can edit anytime, with most edits going live immediately:
Cover image
Story / pitch
Title
Conditions
Stretch goals
Leaderboard perks
When you hit Save on most edits, your change is live right away — you'll see a "Saved — your changes are live" confirmation. Behind the scenes, our review system (Nigel) checks each change against our policies and the promise you made to your backers. If everything looks routine, it ships instantly.
What needs our review first:
A small subset of changes get held for admin approval before going live:
Editing or removing an existing stretch goal, leaderboard perk, or condition once backers have already pledged (those are part of what your backers signed up for)
A story, title, or image change that meaningfully shifts what backers are paying for — e.g. rewriting the pitch into a different challenge entirely
Anything that may conflict with Cajole's content policy
If a change you make falls into one of these, you'll see a yellow banner on your campaign overview explaining exactly what needs approval and why. From there you can either submit it for review, or tweak the wording and re-save — if your revision clears the bar, it goes live without admin involvement.
Adding stretch goals or perks is always free
You can add new stretch goals or leaderboard perks anytime, including mid-campaign, and they go live immediately. New goals are a bonus to your existing backers, not a contract change, so they don't need review.
What's permanently locked:
Once a campaign launches, a few things can never change — they're the foundation of the offer your backers pledged on:
Campaign goal amount
Target (who you're cajoling)
End date
Campaign type and category
To change any of these, the cleanest path is to create a fresh campaign.
Deleting a live campaign
Live campaigns can't be deleted by creators directly. If you have a specific reason (a personal emergency, a policy issue, etc.), reach out to Support and we'll review.
Following the rules
All edits still need to follow Cajole's content policies. Backers can report anything that crosses the line, and our moderation team reviews every flag.
